Measuring Distances
The district measures the distance between the student’s legal residence and the school. Distances are measured along public thoroughfares used by cars and similar vehicles. The distance measured is between the driveway of the student’s legal residence and the main entrance to the school grounds used by the bus.
Eligibility to Ride a Bus
Transportation is provided for students in grades K-5 who attend school more than 1.0 mile, but less than 5.5 miles and for students in grades 6-12 who attend schools more than 1.5 miles, but less than 5.5 miles, from their legal residence.
Special needs transportation for disabled children is provided in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee for Special Education.
