Congratulations to Anthony Lucca, a fifth grade student at Van Corlaer Elementary School, who was recently named the Albany Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League's No Place for Hate Gold Star Award recipient.

The Board of Education recognized Anthony on Wednesday for his extraordinary leadership to make his school "No Place for Hate."



Anthony is energetic, kind and a hard worker who serves as an exceptional role model and stands up for what is right.  According to Principal Mariann Bellai, "he always does what is right to make our school a better place."

"He is a great student and role model," said Mary Barnett, Anthony's classroom teacher.  "He leads by example.  I am proud of Anthony for being a responsible student and a great friend to all of the kids at Van Corlaer.
