Reminder to vote today

Today is the 2021-2022 Budget Vote and School Board Election.  

Polls are open from noon - 9 p.m.

Budget:  The $218.8 million plan represents a $14.1 million or 6.9% spending increase over the current year, adds $3.6 million in programs and services, and keeps the tax levy flat for the third consecutive year.  More information here

School Board Election:  Five candidates are running for two seats on the board of education.  Each seat is for a three-year term, beginning on July 2021.   The two seats up for election are currently held by John Foley and Andrew Chestnut.  Mr. Foley is not seeking re-election.  

Candidates are Erica Brockmyer, Andrew Chestnut, Jamaica Miles, Samuel Rose and Prince Sprauve.  More information is posted on our website.

Vaccinations for Students 12 Years and Older (Pfizer)

Pfizer has now been approved for kids age 12+.  Schenectady County is holding a Pfizer Vaccination clinic for students 12 and older on May 26, 1-5 p.m. at Schenectady High School.  There is no cost to get vaccinated.  You can sign up online now here.

Community COVID Vaccinations (Moderna & Johnson/Johnson 18+)

Schenectady County is also holding regular free COVID-19 vaccine pods for those 18 and older, 4 days per week in May and June.  Appointments are not needed, you can just walk-in.  More information is posted here.  

Hometown Health School Based Clinic at Schenectady High School (Johnson/Johnson 18+)

Hometown Health is also holding a free COVID-19 vaccine clinic for those 18 and older on May 19th at Schenectady High School. You must be a Schenectady High HTH School based health patient.  Call 518-949-5885 to make an appointment.


Parent Focus Group on Tenants’ Rights

Meet John Van Voris of the New York State Attorney General’s Office.  He will discuss and answer questions regarding tenants’ rights including what the Pandemic Moratorium on Eviction means.  Virtual meetings are scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.  and Thursday at 6 p.m.

 May Drive Thru Pop Up

May Drive Thru Pop Up

Join us for the May Drive Thru Pop Up on Wednesday, May 26 from 3:45 - 5:45 p.m. at Zoller Elementary School. Menu includes buffalo chicken salad, dinner roll, apple, milk and a special treat. You can pick up your child's seven-day meal box too.

 There is no school on Friday, May 28 or Monday, May 31. May 28 is an additional recess day since we did not use all of our emergency closing days. Monday, May 31 is Memorial Day.
