Dear Families of English Language Learners/Multi-Language Learners:

It is that time of year when we begin giving the New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test (NYSESLAT).  The NYSESLAT is a yearly test to determine your child's current level of speaking, listening, reading and writing in English.  You will be receiving information from your child's ENL teacher regarding the NYSESLAT.  We would like to offer this assessment to your child, however students must come on campus to take it.  It is not mandated for virtual English Language Learners/students to take the test.  

If you would like your child to take this assessment, your child's teacher will schedule and notify you when the test will be given.  If your child is eligible for transportation, the district will provide transportation.

Transportation Eligibility

Students in grades Pre-K through 5 who attend elementary school more than 1 mile but less than 5.5 miles from their legal residence are eligible for transportation.

Students in grades 6-12 who attend school more than 1.5 miles but less than 5.5 miles from their legal residence are eligible for transportation.
