Reopening of School Input

Reopening of School in September

We are seeking input from our school community about the reopening of school.  We are required to submit a plan to New York State by July 31.   Governor Cuomo provided guidelines on July 13 and be announcing an official decision, by region based on infection rate data, if schools can open.  This determination will be made during the week of August 1 - 7.
We will need to draft a variety of iterations for what the opening of school will look like.  Before we begin crafting plans, we want to collect input from parents, students, community members and staff.  We want to know how you think school will reopen, things we need to consider, concerns you might have and more.

Keep in mind, that any plans that are developed are subject to change based upon any updates, guidance or executive orders from the Governor's office.

Since we are working under a tight deadline, it is important that we have plans developed so that we can plan and communicate effectively.

There are a few ways that you can provide your feedback.

Submit your ideas, thoughts, concerns through a Let's Talk dedicated to Reopening of School.

Please note:  At this time, we don't have answers to questions or details to share that are specific to reopening school.  We are seeking your input and thoughts about that.   The input that we receive, along with the guidelines from New York State, will guide our work in developing a plan.  We are required to submit a plan to New York State at the end of the month.  Once our plan is complete and we have the information we need from the state to move forward, we will be able to provide more concise answers to your questions.  Please be patient.

Thank you.
