The Smart Transfer students began taking courses during the Summer of 2018 as they were entering 10th grade. In Fall 2019, as juniors, they began taking courses full-time at SUNY Schenectady. They recently completed their associate's degree and can transfer as juniors to a four-year college to complete their bachelor's degrees.
The Smart Transfer program is a partnership of SUNY Schenectady, University at Albany, SUNY Delhi and the Schenectady City School District, funded through a $1 million grant from the New York State Education Department.
Smart Transfer is a challenging program that requires great dedication of the students and their families. More information on the program, expectations and how to apply here.
