If your child is 5 years old on or before December 1, 2018, it’s time to register for Kindergarten…


Kindergarten registration opens Monday, April 9th


Register Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am-4:00pm at the Registrar’s Office

located at 108 Education Drive or come to the Community Registration Event at


Yates Village Community Room

May 17th from 2:00-4:00 pm

(Refreshments and Giveaways)

Items to Bring:
  • Proof of student age (birth certificate or passport)

  • Record of Immunization

  • Copy of current physical exam (dated within 1 year)

  • Proof of Residency (dated within 30 days)

  • Proof of Identity for the Parent/Guardian (valid photo ID)

Kindergarten Registration begins April 9, 2018 @ Central Registration.
Students who are enrolled in a Schenectady Universal Pre-K program will automatically be registered for Kindergarten.

To register your child for school grades K-12, you must visit the Student Registration Office located in Central Offices, 108 Education Drive, in the back of Mont Pleasant Middle School.

When you come in, please bring:

  •  Your (Parent) Photo I.D.
  •  Child's Birth Certificate
  •  Student's Immunization Record
  •  Copy of Current Physical

Children and youth in temporary housing can enroll in school without the documents normally needed to enroll.

 Students who are homeless
or live in temporary housing

Students Who are Homeless or Live in Temporary Housing Have Protections and Additional Rights to Immediate Enrollment. 

Children and youth in temporary housing can enroll in school without the documents normally needed to enroll.   Children and youth are temporarily housed or homeless if they lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence which includes for example - living in a shelter or sharing the home of a relative or friend because they lost their home or were evicted.
